    Excellent Pedal alternative

Very happy with this purchase , I’m not a professional bass player but like to experiment with different sounds and don’t want to buy a hundred different pedals. This unit sounds great , and is easy to use and customize. Don’t know that a professional would gig with it , but i think you definitely could to a certain extent. For the price it packs a lot of feature and sounds that are fully customizable. Also has a looper and drum machine / metronome built in . Has made practicing more enjoyable and simpler. Definitely recommend.

    Great Little Machine!

Whoa, if you want some superior bang for your FX pedal bucks, this Zoom B1-4 is the deal of the century!I’m NOT exaggerating. This little jewel is undoubtedly the BEST bass effects pedal I’ve ever owned or played with. It has everything you’ll need, including amp modelling, outstanding compression–the “Glam Comp” setting delivers jaw-dropping sustain, the likes of which I’ve NEVER heard before–an auto-wah that is a blast to play with, all sorts of nifty filter variations, and even some classic amp tone models right out of the history books. When I first plugged it in and started messing with it, I was astonished by this unit’s range and versatility. I could get nearly any tone or amp sound, any kind of filter effect I wanted. It’s ridiculously simple to use and has an open, “blank” bank in it that allows you to copy an effect from a different bank into an open slot. It’s stupid-easy to set up a series of presets in linear order in the blank bank so that just a touch of your toe cycles quickly to the effect you want. I set mine up with the auto-wah first, then the “hard comp,” followed by the “glam comp,” with an Ampeg SVT amp model, then a vintage Fender cabinet, leaving four more slots open if I want to add something else, simply by copying the desired patch–a three click operation–into any of the remaining slots. Make a mistake? Easy-peasy: delete it and do it again. Takes less than a minute to reprogram it.Not satisfied with the internal patches? No prob; the unit lets you tweak the parameters to suit your own ears. I didn’t get into that; I really liked what I heard. Zoom’s engineers really put some serious thought and research into this. There are only two drawbacks: it’s made of a relatively lightweight plastic, not aluminum or steel, so it’s a wee bit fragile. DON’T drop it! I suggest buying the carrier case that’s available. I’m glad I did. It’s a hardshell case and protects the unit really well. The other drawback is that some of the patches are a bit…well, WEIRD. One of them is labelled “Explosion.” I tried it. Yes, it sounds like someone set off a nuke in the next county. Or a really mean thunderstorm. I dunno, you metal players might find a use for it–but a few oddball patches that I’ll never use does not mean a deal-breaker.The price will make your jaw drop, too: around $90. (Zoom might increase the price later. I’m astounded that it’s THIS inexpensive.) Shipping will add a bit more and if you get the case, you’re looking at a total of around $125 for both. Yes, it comes with a wall-wart that has a nice long cord. All told, the Zoom B1-4 is about HALF the price of a comparable steel or aluminum sheathed unit from any other manufacturer–and it does five times the job. It’s clean and quiet enough for recording. Onstage, it sounds frickin’ AWESOME. I kick the glam comp on when I hit a low E at the end of a tune and that note will sustain for several minutes. I do NOT exaggerate! No foolin’, this is the deal of the century. It’s now the ONLY pedal I use onstage for my bass (a Squire Affinity series J-bass with active electronics which is itself an awesome machine.) and I can’t see myself using anything else for some time to come. Warning: it will peg the meters on the sound board if you don’t give the engineer a heads-up during the sound check. I’m serious. This little beast is POWERFUL.

    Easy to use without manual.

Great pedal.Very easy to use and sounds great.

    Get ready to rock

This can be easy, like just use the presets that it came with. Or, it can get *way* more complex, as in you can design and modify your own patches on board (kind of challenging) or using the software on your computer (less challenging). The hardest part is probably wrapping your head around all of the pedals/effects available, and starting to learn their shorthand monikers that will be displayed on the limited screen space on the pedal itself. It sounds good. The only reason I dock it a star is that there’s no way to turn it off short of unplugging the input cable. I came from Boss pedals which I could leave wired up and just stomp them on and off when I wanted. Now, I have to bend over and unplug my bass when I’m done playing or else the pedal just sits there on for the next ten hours…

    Bastante bien.

    Very very cool effects pedal!

This is a fantastic effects pedal. No complaints because it’s everything I expected and wanted… It’s easy to use, has tons of selections, it’s small, it’s not hollow, it actually has some weight to it which means that it’s not easy to break unless you throw it against the wall LOL or drop it down a flight of stairs….it came with a power adapter and also has a USB option….. I recommend this to anyone who has an electric guitar or bass or wants to use it for certain voice effects…. Excellent product!!!!

    Great pedal for the money

Great value. Fun pedal. Looper works great. It takes a bit of getting use too. Once you get going with it it is super fun. Only draw back to it are a few of the effects aren’t usable, but I just don’t use those. Pretty sturdy. Amp sims sound pretty good too. Worth the money, absolutely.

  14. Brian Rhody

    Very nice.

I like this pedal. It has a lot of nice features. I’m not a huge fan of pedals for bass, but this can be minimal enough to just give me a few things I like. The drum machine and looper are nice touches for practicing.

great for DI recording in a home studio

This unit has great sound quality, and loads of features for the money. I am a guitarist, but have an old Squire Affinity P-bass upgraded with brass saddles, a Tusq nut, wiring from Sigler Music (920D), Seymore Duncan SPB-2 (hot P-bass) pickups, and some good copper cavity shielding — I didn’t want to buy a dedicated mic and bass amp just to demo my stuff, and this ties it all together — I really only wanted compression, and amp modeling (which this does well enough for me) but it also has a ton of the famous Zoom effects that might be useful — they are fun to mess with at the very least. As a bonus, there’s a looper and some beats that are good for spicing up practice.

    Nice amp simulation

I was impressed with the Speaker and amp simulation. I like the Darkglass preamp effect. Gives me the vintage sound with a little grit and mild distortion. I use for my personal practice with headphones. I can plug my phone into the aux and play along the tracks. I never used in a band or gig .

Great value with lots of features

I bought this primarily to practice with headphones but it sounds even better through an amp. There are so many features in this unit I am barely scratching the surface. It is a little limiting as a headphone amp, I would appreciate a separate volume for the headphones but its easy enough to adjust the volume on my bass and my aux input source.

    It’s awesome you’ll dig it.

I would say “for the price” this thing is awesome. But It’s awesome anyway. This thing does every thing I need it to do, to enhance my bass tone and I don’t need a bucket full of pedal effects to make it happen. AND a loop station.AND a drum machine. AND a tuner. AND a metronome. You’ll dig it. Buy a power adapter with it. It only comes with batteries.👍🏼

    Gets job done.

Needed something simple and quick. Works fine. Made in China.

  20. Hillbilly nick

    Really fun and economic

I love this thing as a spare time bassist I just ventured into the world of bass pedals . Yes there is better and more expensive out there but for someone like me it’s a good opportunity to find out what there all day like in this one unit and it give you new experiences with your bass .

  21. Screamer

Good multi-effect pedal for the price/ UPDATE: Pedal Went Dead

You can’t go wrong for the price. It’s a good multi-effects pedal with plenty of effects, tuner, looper, and multiple straight drum tracks. Having said that, I’m not totally sold nor do I think I would ever use it in live situations. Other than throwing it in the tuner mode I don’t believe there is a way to bypass all effects and just run your amp straight. I guess running it in tuner mode is the way to do it. It just seems odd to not have a bypass. Also, there is no off switch. All cables must be unplugged when not in use to avoid battery loss. There is some sort of power off thing after 10 hours or something but would batteries even last that long anyway. I suppose that is if you purchase the power adaptor. I do have fun with it and purchased it for just that. Fun, practice, Metrodome rhythm, etc. Would recommend.UPDATE 6/14/20 – changed the original batteries out and plugged in my bass as normal. Got a couple of “pops” and the pedal is completely dead. Tried another set of batteries and nothing. No display or sound at all. Returned and was given a refund rather than a replacement as they were out of stock. Emailed Zoom about the issue as I’d like to get another but it worries me to purchase another one if it’s only going to go out.

Great little effects box for the price.

I play bass on my church music team and have never utilized any effects or pedals. I wanted an in-line tuner and a way to mute my bass, but I got so much more with this. You can definitely hear the different amp modes and the tuner works great. I haven’t gotten into all the things it can do, but I am very happy with my purchase. I bought the ac adapter for it so I don’t have to worry about batteries going dead. It is made of plastic, but seems very sturdy. It seems to be a very good value and have already recommended this to a friend.

  23. Kenny C.

    I like it

I like it. I was a little disappointed to discover that it was plastic, though I should not have been as some other Zoom things that I have are plastic. I am not a bass player and so had no expectations. I really like the pedal, it does lots of stuff and is easy to use. It’s a lot of fun. One easily solved disappointment was that it came with batteries but didn’t come with a power cord. I like playing with a power cord so I had to buy one. All and in all it’s alright.

  24. BH

    Great for practicing

Update: This charger works perfectly with the B1 Four, and is cheaper than the one that gets recommended on this page: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00191WVF6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviewsI had bought the small Vox mini-amp plugins to use for practicing, but the sound was terrible (esp for $60+) — so I came across this Vox unit for just a bit more. It’s great for my needs — practicing with headphones on. You can dial in some decent sounds with effects. The beats are decent, but I don’t really use them. Nice compact unit, runs on batteries or USB. Software is easy to use to create presets. I am not a fan of the jacks being on the back (the line out doubles as headphone jack) bc causes my cords to bend if I am standing and facing the unit — not a huge deal though. I wouldn’t say the sound quality is good enough for recording or gigging, tbh, but admit I have not tried it for either.

    yup

this is way easier to use than the original one(i had it and it failed after a year and a half). so why did i replace it with another zoom? because i feel that the zoom offers the best sounding and best features for the money. i have never had one of their products fail before so i’ll give them the benefit of the doubt… for now. and they did answer my email right away and offer me a replacement at a reduced price. that’s good customer service. also i don’t plan on gigging with this… it’s just for practice so it doesn’t have to be built like a tank. i believe this unit is perfect for people need a headphone amp solution instead of an amp and who need a rhythm machine to practice with. it also has a fairly good looper, which i don’t really use… I’m not Victor Wooten.

    Awesome practice tool

Presets and drum loop are awesomeOnly knock is that you cant edit the drum loop with the pc app. You can edit everything else with the app though. Just as if it were floor pedals and amps. The app makes it much easier to tweak. Honestly it it were a guitar veraion it would be a lot of endless tweaks. But a bass player only needs a few good sounds and he is off. This pedal provides that in spades .

    Lots of Unexpected Functionality

Not much to dislike here. Many wonderful effects built into the box. The tuner is VERY clear with the red and green light across the top of the box. Viewing and changing effects on a PC using Zoom Guitar Lab is outstanding. While connected, a change of effect on the PC immediately changes the effect in the box. Easy to select and change effects parameters directly from the box. Live record/playback built into the box. Lots if different drummers built into the box. AUX IN built into the box. So much value. Nice job guys!

So much bang for your buck

Finally pulled the trigger and bought this bad mofo. After a week of playing around with it I have to say I’m not disappointed. The housing is plastic but it’s a sturdy type of plastic. It definitely has some weight to it. The effects themselves sound amazing aside from the cab sims which leave something to be desired. Distortion sounds really great. Effects like the phaser, tremolo, synth, etc. sound amazing as well. Also the amount of customization you can do with this processor is virtually limitless. Its not a replacement for other pedals. That’s not its purpose. It’s made for those like myself who are on a budget and can’t drop fat stacks on gear. And for less than 70 bucks it’s for sure a steal. Overall I’m very happy with it.

  29. Amazon Customer

Does what I need it to do

I basically needed a headphone practice amp – some effects and modelling would be nice, but not necessary. I had initially went with an iRig HD2 and my iphone, but, was disappointed. I really did not think about a stomp box being a decent headphone amp, but, this fills the bill and does what I need it to do. The fact that is was cheaper than the iRig HD2 was a plus. Being able to build your own patches is pretty straight-forward once you get used to the software.

  30. ldolamore

    Mostly good effects, great value

Most of the effects aren’t as high quality as dedicated analog pedals, but they’re usable, at least to my ears. Frankly, in a band setting I can’t tell much difference between these effects and the those costing much more. The pedal is fairly easy to set up, but is extremely easy to edit via USB connection using the GuitarLab software that can be downloaded from Zoom website. I mostly don’t use effects when playing with bands but this Zoom is fine for the occasional time when I want to add something different, or the song requires it. I’m not concerned about the plastic housing and controls since the unit seems well built and I take great care of my gear, so durability shouldn’t become an issue.

  31. Roget du Thesaurus

    So great!

This effects box does so much for the price of one reasonably priced pedal! Amp + cab simulators, compressors, distortion, auto-wah, noise filter, envelope filters, etc. Most of the effects have 4 – 12 editable parameters. Also great for private study, with headphones and line in from phone or other player. I typically dial in one good sound that I like, but this has so many options. The downside is that I spend more time creating patches than learning material! It’s fun. And it has a looper and drum machine. No xlr out, but for this price unbeatable. It’s plastic, but seems pretty sturdy. It has some dark-glass patches that work better than the dark-glass pedal I bought. Incredible product.

  32. ironbadge

    I like this thing!

It has plenty of effects that I doubt I will use them all. I am not sure I will use the “Explosion” effect since the keyboard people can replicate all kind of explosions more… effectively. This thing makes my affordable Yamaha TRBX-174 sounds a lot better. I wanted a TRBX-600 series but I may not need one since this Yamaha – Zoom combination already sounds pleasantly good.I can output the signal from this Zoom to a mixer, an amp, or a pair of ear/headphones with TRS jack. My preferable setup is through a Yamaha AG-06 to my computer, with monitor headphones or active monitor speakers, or both.It can be powered using a USB power brick which I already gathered a bunch over the years. I can also modify the effects or even register new ones in the available slots using a computer via this micro USB port which makes this thing even more powerful. It should be powered by the computer USB in this scenario. My most favorite feature is the tuner. It works very fast and accurately. I have a pedal Monoprice and a clip-on Snark, too. This one is much faster and seems more accurate.I don’t use the looper and am ok with the plastic body. The build is solid but I am not sure how much “stomping” it can take from a more vivid bassist.Since this thing can be powered either by a USB brick or batteries, it is mobile. This means you can play it with ear/headphones anywhere. It also takes aux in, meaning you can jam along songs from your phone, iPod, whatever that can output through a 3.5 stereo jack. I have not tried it but will do soon. Eh, those of you who have new phones may be out of luck. My phone has no good old 3.5 jack. I will try a Bluetooth adapter (I already have one laying around) which costs around $20, or hopefully less, here on Amazon. So, you can play some bass with this thing while one the train or bus, too!I rarely rate a product five stars except the thing is truly exceptional. This thing earned a solid 5. Recommended. It is under a 100 dollars now, so buy it as soon as you can.

Pretty great for what it is…

I bought this because it was cheaper than a single analog pedal that isn’t crap. It has a lot of preset effects, which are combinations of the emulated pedals/amps. Out of all of them, though, there are less than 10 (more like 5) that I actually use. Wait though, that’s not a negative. For what I listen to and play, those few are enough. I get a compressor, a delay pedal, a synth pedal, chorus, fuzz and distortion for maybe 2/3 the price of any of those analog pedals, and the effects sound good enough to me. I’m a noob, dunno if I would use this in a gig, because… I don’t play gigs. Put the hard comp on my Fender J-bass playing Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and suddenly, I AM John Deacon (not really, but it sure feels that way). This thing is absolutely great. I don’t need the Wah, or the Synth, or most of the other stuff, but even using a very small subset of the preset effects (and only having started playing with making my own virtual pedal boards/effects), this device is worth every penny I spent. Maybe I should have gotten the one with the physical pedal, but I’m not that good… I certainly don’t miss it. EVERYONE should have this effects pedal in their home music room, and toss it in the gig bag to amaze your friends. I LOVE IT! And if I ever “git gud” and can tell the difference between digital and analog effects, this has shown me which pedals I’m going to be looking at.

    Excelente herramienta..

Excelente herramienta.

    Killer tool for beginner bassists

Learning the bass with online lessons, so I have to play along with the lesson videos, and practice by myself and try to self-judge. I tried 3 setups:- USB audio interface, bass plugged into it, Reaper DAW with bass amp VST models: – OK, but super cumbersome, can record myself but it’s painful – Can use easy tuner in Reaper- Vox amPlug2 Bass with AUX IN to laptop: – Much less cumbersome, and can practice without laptop – Good beats to play along – Have to use separate tuner – Can’t record myself easily- Zoom B1 Four with AUX IN to laptop – Lots of great-sounding amp models – Great beats for practice, lots of choice – Great built-in tuner without plug/unplug – ** BEST ** Can record myself play 4-16 bars! The Zoom B1 Four was the thing that totally changed the game for my learning. The ability to play along with lessons (with AUX IN) while having good bass tone with amp model is awesome. Once play-alongs are done, I just pick one of the rhythms (like one of the 8beats, Rock or Funk) and just use the looper to record myself. It’s super easy and I can tell if I’m on beat and the notes are right.Overall, excellent value for money. The built-in effects/models are really easy to configure. The looper is simple to use and has count-in, and there’s enough beats that I don’t need a separate drum machine or anything. The tuner is the bonus cherry on top.Very highly recommended.

Fun pedal with a couple of caveats

This box of effects is a lot of fun.I primarily bought the B1 to fill out my pedal board with effects I don’t own dedicated pedals for, but I could easily use it all by itself. The Guitar Lab software also makes creating and editing patches a pretty easy process. This is definitely a five star product from a feature set perspective. There are a couple of things that caused me to drop a star.First, is that to use Guitar Lab or perform firmware updates, you have to provide your own USB Sync cable. All of the cables I had on hand we’re charge only, so I had to go buy one. You’d think that a device so heavily dependent upon a connection to my computer would have had a cable in the box.The other challenge I had was with the display. When you run in Stomp mode, any effect that’s not active is represented by a bunch of pixels. This means you have to memorize which effect in your chain each pedal represents. Otherwise, you might accidentally turn on your distortion rather than your chorus in the middle of a gig.Other than those two frustrations, it really is a great piece of gear. I just wish it was a little more user friendly.

Great selection of useful efx sounds & modibility.

Cost vrs. Quality & functionality. Great bass efx.Wish didnt have 2 unplug input jack to cancel battery transition/backup when turn’n AC off.

    C-c-combo!

What a great little pedal. In a small package, it combines a lot of features: a drum machine, tuner, looper, and very nice selection of effects, amps sims, and miced cab sims. Something I like very much about this pedal – is usability. Which such a huge number of options and features it is easy to make such devices too complicated to use. Not is a case of Zoom B1 Four – the user interface is surprisingly logical, simple and easy-to-use. There are no confusing deep menus, clicking trough endless lists, etc. Everything is just one or two presses away, with options easy to find and understand. Special kudos for a dedicated physical knob controls, which map directly to effects params, eliminating needs to scroll through options just to tweak few params.Another great feature (added in 2.0 software update) is an ability to switch looper between pre-effect and post-effect (previously it was post-only). This allows you to record some riff, put your bass aside, and tweak the sound until you get the desired result having an exact same sound to test it on. Amazingly handly!Battery power and headphones output mean it is an ultimate headphones practice device with a plus of being very portable. All you need it G1 Four, headphones, and bass. You just dial in your favorite amp and cabinet sound, and you get a great bass sound even in headphones.Physically it also looks very tough and sturdy and feels like a quality device, not a plastic toy.10/10, Amazing product from Zoom

Bass effects tool from a Newbie POV: Must connect to laptop

I am a 50 yo music lover but not a bassist, just a doodler. I use cheapo 15w Fatboy amp and cheapo Washburn Bass guitar which needs some tuning. Did not RTFM so could not really use the B1-Four until I installed the Windows App and connected The B1-4 to Laptop, Amp and Bass. Now I can choose a patch from the app and just jam to it.The included drum beats are kind of basic but I guess they are useful for practice. Also this was probably designed for a more powerful amp ; I have to keep volume low on my amp but I do get a very decent Bass sound. I hope I can figure out how to combine the effects to make more sounds but there are a few cool patches that I like. This gizmo does tend to highlight my newbie Bass plucking so it is harder for me to jam but maybe I will develop better technique. I previously connected the Bass to a Voxx guitar StompBox and I guess the electronics kinda hid my sloppy technique. I can’t see how this would be useful for a gig but for basement jamming this is worth it

    So much fun!!!

I have the guitar version of this and since I like to play guitar and bass. I love most of the presets it comes with but some are totally useless. The drum machine is very handy too just for a beat to play with. I just use a Fender Rumble 40 to practice through and it really thickens it up even more.

I found a problem with this pedal

Sadly I posted my review too soon after this purchase. But I found if I press the stomp switch to change the effect. The pedal will give a click and the sound goes silent from the pedal and guitar ? I have to restart the pedal by taking the plug out and restarting the pedal ? Maybe some electrical short with the foot switch ?

I like it – but I wish it had a POWER button!

I keep this pedal in-line with my others, and powered with external power. There is no power button. So after I’m done practicing, I tap all of my other pedals to turn them off… but the Zoom stays powered on for the next 10 hours before it shuts itself off. Then, the next day when I want to play, it will not wake up with a tap. Instead, I have to pull BOTH the power jack and the input plug out of the unit. The only thing that powers it on is inserting the input plug. So, it boots up on batteries. Then, I plug in the power jack and it boots up again… a second time. This whole process is ridiculous and so annoying when I have a guitar around my neck. But otherwise, it is a really fun, easy to use multi-function pedals that sounds great.

Worth it for the B7K simulation alone!

Seriously it sounds so good! The effect quality is great, it’s also the most user-friendly multi-effect I’ve ever used. I use mine with my band running through a Rumble 500 head and 210 and it sounds great. I still can’t really get a good fuzz tone I like out of it but I’m the pickiest person alive when it comes to bass distortion/overdrive/fuzz.At home I use this as a headphone amp and it shines here as well. I can just go outside and play some bass in the sun anytime and that’s a great feeling.Sure it’s made of plastic but for the price who cares? As long as you don’t run it over or use it as a trampoline it’s going to last a really long time. This is all to say nothing of what it can do when hooked up to a PC, as there’s Guitar Lab and ToneLib for editing effects and then you can even use it as an audio interface/headphone amp for your PC!So it’s got hundreds of dollars worth of pedals, a headphone amp, a great tuner (especially on stage or if your visually impaired like myself), it’s got a drum machine, a looper, and you can use it to record tracks on your computer. All for the price of any one of those features in a separate product. Even if you only use it as a tuner and say reverb pedal it’s still a great value.

Supplies all the sounds you are likely to need in a compact package

I have a Zoom G3XN, so I am used to most of the user interface, it has a stompbox mode and a preset mode. You probably want to buy a DC9V / 500mA (center negative) power adapter for it separately. The Rhythm feature is very basic, but good for practising. The 30-second looper is also basic, but fine as an extra festure. The graphic equalizers are low-noise, there are more preamp/amp/speaker combinations than you probably need. If you find an isolated bass track on youtube you like, you can probably duplicate it and save it as a preset. The unit is small, and sits on top of my USB interface. There is a Fender Bassman and a Rat in there, so you can use it for guitar too.The tuner is much better for bass than the G3XN, so I appreciate the attention to detail. For home recording or live, you can get any bass sound you want, I can live with 4 or 5 custom settings, so it is all I need for bass. There is no XLR out, so you would need a seperate DI box for gigging. There is paper manual is simple, but you can download more from the Zoom website. So, nothing wrong with the product, and it is really cheap for the feature set. It isn’t super easy to use, but I don’t see how they could make it easier. They crammed a lot in there. So, I’m a happy customer.

Better for home use than stage use

It’s very difficult to tweak the settings with all the small knobs and buttons while you’re playing… or maybe I just have large hands? But when it’s plugged into the computer and I can edit everything there, it’s super intuitive and the software UI is a breeze to learn. I really like the ability to save presets on the computer, just in case I happen to run out of slots on the pedal itself. It really does sound great. I will say though, the speaker cabinet features are better for recording or direct output. You’re better off just running the amplifier head effect by itself without a cabinet if you’re running the pedal into your own amplifier and speaker. The speaker effects tend to muddle the sound through my bass amplifier, and typically sound better through my DI or headphones.

    Good but

Ask someone who’s worked with programming tools like these excessively. The onboard UI for this thing is completely non understandable. The desktop app for it unfortunately it doesn’t really work either. So basically I’m stuck with the preset sounds. I haven’t messed with it too much though so maybe I’ll be proven wrong. But I definitely can’t get the desktop program to work with the internal sound editing parameters. So as far as the actual sound of the unit goes it’s very good and I’m very impressed. For the money and the size this thing is actually incredible. Still gets four stars.

    Buena, bonita y barata!

    Love it

First of all, been playing bass for 30 years, and I don’t gig with this, so can’t comment on gigging durability. I’d been looking into building a pedal board, but realized every pedal I wanted was gonna cost me hundreds. Stumbled across this and bought it, and I LOVE it. Every pedal I wanted to buy is in here! Love the Sansamp, the reverbs, distortions, everything. I’ve made some cool presets but my personal fave is #27, WahDistortion. Sounds just like Cliff on Pulling Teeth! The built in drum machine is fun to play along with too. With this unit, I can play on the couch with headphones in the evenings and not drive my family crazy. I usually have my phone plugged into it too and I’ll be ripping along to some old Metallica. Best piece of music gear I’ve purchased in a long time, recommended! Get yourself an AC adaptor, too.

    Fantastic for the price!

This is a great little unit. 40 presets built in and ready to go. There is a little learning curve, but right out of the box, plug in and play. I use this for home recording and making bass videos. It’s just perfect. Any tone you need is there. And for $100, its a steal. Any one interested in trying out effects for your bass or just looking for a good amp simulator or preamp, this is ideal.

Worth every cent. Buy it and see.

Surprised by how many usable patches sound great through my Fender Rumble amp. Not hard to use like past Zoom multi-effects units.Has an decent onboard easy to use tuner. The drum option and looper are superior to other stand alone looper/drum pedals of the same price point. My only complaint is the dry signal adjustment range of some of the fuzz patches wasn’t enough. This became a non-issue when I coupled B1 Four with a blender pedal to easily dial in dry signal with what ever patch in about 2 seconds. This took my bass sound to next level for $260 Cdn. No noise gate or compressor required, I only take Zoom B1 Four and Xotic X-blender with me when I play.

    Great value for the price

Did what I expected, and it is a lot of fun.Update: the only minor issue is that this pedal returns a lot of noise to the power supply. You can’t really use daisy chain power supplies or you will get noise on the line as soon as yuo add other pedals on the same power supply line.Yuo will have to use a dedicated power supply (or batteries) or a multi-output power supply brick that has actual isolated outputs.

    Love this thing

I am an amateur hobby bass player that enjoys messing around and didn’t want to invest in pro level pedals just to get a chorus when I want to play The Cure or fuzzy distortion for Marilyn Manson or wahwah for funky Jamaraqoui. There’s a few features that I wish there was more Tutorials or Instructions for, like I know I found the delay the other day but I can’t seem to find it again. I’m still trying to figure out the website. But for the money this thing is amazing.

    Easy To Use

I am a bass player that never really ever used effects until I joined a cover band and needed different sounds for a couple different songs. I didn’t want to spend too much money so I originally bough a ZOOM B2 second hand. I loved it but it was not that easy to set up effects so that was why I bought the B1 Four. It is so much easier to change the settings of a patch or each effect separately. I love the Stomp mode where it looks like a pedal board and you can add/change effects or just adjust each effect separately. This is the perfect multi-effects pedal for me and the overall effects and patches are great. For the money this might be the best multi-effects pedal out there.

    Good Variety of Bass Effects

The Zoom B1 FOUR Bass Guitar Multi-Effects Processor Pedal has a good variety of bass effects; most are useful. I like the ability to easily modify and fine-tune an EFX, just the way I want it. The rudimentary drum tracks are good for practicing different genres and tempos. The case is made from thick plastic. I think it is strong enough for lite duty stage or studio work, but I would worry about it holding up if you are hard on your stomp box effects. It is acoustically quiet; no hums, buzz’s, crackling, etc. Great value for the money. I like it.
