    FX are useless

The big thing for me is that the built in FX are very weak especially the chorus, Flanger and reverb… I bought this amp thinking it’s going to be conveniently portable and versatile with all the built in FX i use only to discover that they sound nothing near what an actual pedal effect would sound like.. It also has Metal, British and a couple other tones built in but again they are weak and not anywhere close to what an actual pedal would sound like… I’m very disappointed in this amp but I’ll give it a 3* rating just because it’s cheap and the clean channel is ok but you might aswell buy the Frontman for that price and just buy an actual pedal.. I wish i would have done that now that I’ve tried it out for myself..

    Better amp than I expected.

I was unsure about getting this amp but was pleasantly surprised. It is louder than I expected, and the sound quality is good. I have only turned the volume up to five and it is plenty loud for me in a small apartment. The effects aren’t the greatest, but I do like the distortion sounds. I have tried other small amps before, and they didn’t perform as well as this one. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a small portable amp.

    A great step up

I absolutely love this amplifier. I am a beginner and this is my first time purchasing an amp and it is such a huge improvement over the smaller amp that came in the starter pack with my guitar. I was debating between this and the Orange RT 20 but ultimately decided to choose this amp because of its features. It does not disappoint! It’s plenty loud enough and super versatile. Some reviewers have mentioned a popping noise when you turn off the amp. Yes, this is a thing but it’s not that big of a deal. My assumption is that this is normal and nothing to be concerned about.Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Sounds like a 100 watts!!

This little amp is amazing! It has more fx than amps 3 times the price. All of the fx sound great and it has so much versatility. Makes my little acoustic sound like a Les Paul!

    Fantastic Amp

I just got this amp in the house and couldn’t wait to open it up. I was literally quivering because I had been out of music for a while because of my health and was super excited to get back into it. I just got a Jem Jr and when I plugged it in and dialed it up to my liking I hit a low E power chord and it sounded AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! My heart beat began to accelerate as I hit an A power chord and then……a low F#. It was serious KACHUNKA. Really big bottom end. So then I began to play. It was all coming back to me. Some sweep picking, harmonic dive bombing and it was all so clean and clear. Then I realized I was playing Judas Priest, PainKiller and when I was finished I had to sit down. My heart rate was well over 120 BPM, I was sweating and dizzy with delight….I needed a cigarette. So I lit up sat back and looked at my new amp and starred in disbelief that all that sound came out of that Fender 20 package. Buy one, you won’t regret it. Its a great practice amp or if you want to play with your friends. You can’t beat the price. Fender hasn’t lost anything in the music industry. They are still on top of the mountain.

  9. PKC

    Great buy

This amp performed better than expected. More than loud enough for bedroom or living room practice. Not sure if it will be sufficient for outdoor or full group jams. I would use a 12 inch combo for that. The loud popping at power off, not so good. But half the amps I’ve owned in the past, various brands, had this very same problem. I just hope this speaker can handle it as well as the robust ones made in the old days. The digital reverb is ok. But all the other features of this amp make up for the missing spring reverb. I think I will buy the 50xl next.Additional Note: I added a speaker jack for an external speaker with a DPDT switch mounted on the same bracket so that I can attach an external speaker. I can switch back and forth between the internal and external. Did I void warranty, probably so. But with a Eminence Legend 1275 12″ Guitar Speaker mounted in a prefabbed sub woofer box, this amp sounds so much better. And since the speaker is larger, more air is displaced. I can feel the vibes.

    Sounds awesome!

I actually like this Amp. It sounds pretty good. It’s got metal to country sounds. if you need an Amp, no matter the style it does pretty good. at a great price as well.

    I love this amp!

I’ve had this amp for 4 months and I love it. There are more than enough voices. Some sound similar to each other, but all are a bit different in some way. The only voice I did’nt like was Tweed Champ. This amp is more than loud enough. I will be 65 this year and have been playing guitar for 5 years. I used Guitar Rig 5 as my amp for the first 4 years. Since I bought this amp I’ve only used GR5 twice. For me, there are more than enough FX. I love reverb and chorus and this has both. I spend most of my time playing along to Classic Rock songs from my MP3. I love that you can plug it right into the amp. The only thing I don’t like about this amp, is that when you plug in the headphones you lose a lot of volume. I have to turn the guitar to 9 and the MP3 player almost all the way up, which makes it use up batteries faster. I like the lights that tell you what voice and FX you are using and how smooth all the knobs are. Some people complain about the pop the amp makes when you shut it off. To me it’s really not that loud, but I discovered if you have the headphones plugged in when you turn the amp off the pop becomes a low click. 🙂 I would buy this this amp again and reccomend it to friends. For practicing and just playing around it’s perfect.

    Excellent small amp!

Great smaller amp! My son will use it for practice around the house mainly. Was shipped quick and arrived safe and sound!

    Incredible value for money.

Incredible value for money. Fender really delivers with this. Insane little practice amp that you can bring to small gigs, even has some built-in effects if you’re not bringing your pedalboard. Buy one.

  15. Mindy

A well made and great sounding compact guitar amplifier

Honestly, I couldn’t be more pleased with this amp. It has the classic Fender look and build quality that I would expect from a more expensive amplifier. It has high quality black tolex covering, and the traditional “blackface” Fender speaker guard, metal corners, handle, and 4 rubber feet, and the fit and finish is as good as any Fender amp I’ve seen. The preamp has 4 different amp “voices” with a corresponding clean, drive, and overdrive setting for each voice. The voices are: Tweed, Blackface, British, and Metal, and each can be played clean, driven, or overdriven; so you have 12 total selections with the “VOICE” knob. There is an LED light that changes color for each voice; red = clean, green = drive, and amber = overdrive, for each of the 4 amp models. I am loving the “British” overdrive for some blues solos as I am typing this review. If I didn’t know better I would assume this little amp was tube driven. The 20 watt 8″ speaker with an open back is matched perfectly to this compact amp, with just enough low end and shimmering highs you would think were coming from a Fender Twin. The sound quality and loudness of this amp has exceeded my expectations, which were already set high after reading the good reviews. I have no problems giving this 5 Stars, especially at the $100 price point, I would have been fully pleased at twice that price. Oh and I forgot to mention the built in effects are top notch and very easy to dial in as needed, very impressive all the way around.

Versatility & Performance – Excellent Value

When I saw the size of the box I had some severe reservations, however once I plugged it in and started playing my Strat through it, I could not stop playing! Wow! 2 hours of sheer wonder as I explored what this thing can do. (Without effects pedals.)I was looking for a practice amp with some versatility, that would allow me to practice without going through a 20 minute set up time, as with my usual rig. I have limited windows of time within which to practice, and set up can be an impediment. I now have that problem absolutely solved! Plug it in and go. It is small enough to set onto a chair or table top, but the sound is much larger than I expected.Effects are fairly decent (20 watt model), enough that they are more than sufficient for practice purposes.(Wah is corny, but that is just me. Your results may vary). I am VERY pleased with the sound, versatility, and value of this amp for the price I paid. Cheap enough to carry around one in your vehicle if you need to, but performs well enough that you’ll be very angry if someone steals it. This one will go with me almost everywhere. If you know someone looking for a good practice amp, this is the one they need. And beginners will find its versatility of great value as they learn to play. I thought some previous reviewers were joking when they said they were considering buying another one. Now I know why they said it!

    Surprisingly Good Amplifier

This is an excellent amp for what you pay, assuming you know what to expect:1. This is a solid state amp for jam sessions or practicing at home.2. There is not a ton of features, but definitely enough to get close to what you’re trying to accomplishTaking that into consideration, it nails what it’s supposed to do.1. Not a lot of gadgetry, just some basic effects, along with gain, volume, bass, treble2. No fancy touch screens or any way to connect it to a computer via USB, so all it’s features are on simple knobs. Plug and Play.3. Will make your ears bleed in a small room if you give it the opportunity.I have only two complaints, and they’re minor so I’m taking off one star.1. The”Voice” knob has 12 settings. The knob doesn’t “click” to each setting, but freely rotates through them (like a volume knob, instead of an old TV knob). I’m not sure it’s supposed to work like that, but it does.2. There is a loud, unpleasant electronic pop sound when you power off the unit. I’ve heard this complaint from other users. As long as you’re not expecting to rock the block with this amp you won’t be disappointed. The sound is pretty good, it’s got the looks, and it doesn’t break the bank. Unless you’re some kind of tone snob, you’ll definitely find it quite usable and completely worth the $100 price.

    Champion 20 vs Champion 40

This review is more of a comparison between the 20 and the 40 than a review of how the Champions sound. They both sound great.I bought the Champion 20 at first, which is a great sounding amp that also looks cute. It also has all the sounds I wanted and it can play amazingly loud even though it is small. Then I realized that it does not have the capability to quickly switch from clean to rock/metal sounds using a foot switch. So I bought a Champion 40 instead and returned the 20 (the foot switch needs to be bought separately though as it does not come with either the 20 or the 40).Also got a chance to compare both amps side by side. I like the sound of the Champion 40 way better than the 20. It was better rounded, warmer and richer sounding than the 20.Also, I did not notice any excessive boominess/bass in the 40 that some users complained about. The “popping” sound when you turn off the amp is very minimal on the 40. However, on the 20 it is noticably louder that you might think something is wrong with it.If you are torn between the 2 models for a buying decision, hope this post helps.

    Excited about this little amp!

I have only had this amp for roughly 6 hrs., and I’m so excited about it I had to write a review. What I really like about this amp is the sound!! It’s full and clear, and responds very well to my off board pedal effects. Regardless of all the great reviews, at this price point I certainly did not expect this quality of sound! I am truly pleasantly surprised! So, let me go back a step: I have a Bugera V5 tube amp, and I used to love this amp. It had that classic tube sound, in a small 5W practice amp, which was just what I wanted. Well, as the tubes aged, that sound was gone. Even replacing the tubes didn’t bring back the original sound. So, I could have spent more money to try different brands of tubes, but instead I decided to give this amp a try. Doing a side to side comparison today may not be fair, but I don’t remember the Bugera ever sounding this good. I’ve only played with a few of the amp models, and only tried the flanger and wah (I don’t have those on my pedal board), but again, very pleasantly surprised. Just for the record, I’m just a bedroom guitarist, so I can’t say if this is a good amp for a professional musician. But I’ve always been an audiofile, and it’s not easy to impress me when it comes to sound. Well…I’m impressed!!

    Great product!! Full review.

I was confused between mashall g4 15 watt or fender champion 20 as my budget was too tight, I don’t wanna go above 10k but calculating all possible scenarios like Sherlock homes I went on spending additional thousand bucks and guys I must say, it’s very good. For a beginner like me, it’s just some additional nobs that I got over Marshall but I can say that sound quality and effects are amazing.Anybody, basically a noob or beginner like me who is not sure what this can or can not do here are the things.Gain nob let’s you add a lot of distortion kind of noise.Volume is volume.Voice knob has 4 options you can slowly move the knob to get many different sounds (tweed, blackface, british, metal)Treble is trebleBass is bassFx level depends on the next knob fx select where you can select the fx from 7 selections (reverb+ch, chorus, flange, delay+rev, wah, bin, tremolo) switch it to any fx mode and control using the fx level knob. It’s amazing. The money I’ve spent, totally satisfied. I must say, it’s a little expensive for beginners but I think its okay to survive on less expensive cigarettes for few months. 😉

    It’s a Fender

My goodness this is a little gem of an amp for the money. I was going to go for the 40 but decided, last minute, to go with the 20 and I’m pleased I did. I’m not going to be playing any heavy metal through it, well not with me only having a Ukulele but this amp has more than enough volume for a small pub or hall type venue and it was mainly purchased for use by me to play blues harp through, and what a good job it does of it. Both the Uke and harmonica sound terrific through it and once you have everything dialled in you are good to go. It would have been nice to have the ability to store particular sound styles but hey, I suppose that’s what phone cameras are for ! I really can’t fault it and whilst there are a plethora of mini amps available which all do a sterling job they just don’t sound like a Fender ! Do they !

  24. Smart buyer

    Served it’s purpose.

Probably the best amp at this price range.

  25. BesBes

    Sound like a pro!

So I got this with a new guitar for my partners birthday. It was a serious upgrade to a very old and outdated prior amp.But seriously the sounds he gets out of this amp is spectacular. It makes his old music sound like trash in comparison.I’m not easily impressed but this well over exceeded all mine and his expectations to the point he’s playing more often than before. Highly recommended!

  26. C kailashC kailash

Well it just exceeded my expectations.

It’s really good, infact let me just say it’s great, it’s amazing, you got way too many tweaks to mess around without having to worry about getting pedals for certain fx which is already here in the amp. It’s a single channel amp no output for foot switch but I’m a beginner so personally no need for that right now, and about sound it produces enough of that, I’ll tell you what its loud enough to even performe a small to medium gig. And what else, oh yeah the power cord it’s European no earthing pin, you might wanna order a seperate power cord or an adaptor which is easily available here on Amazon, plz take a note of that, and that’s all about it I guess, cheers then, have a great day ✨ bye.

  27. D. D. LeDu

Good enough for a beginner (me!)

I just got a pickup for my acoustic guitar, and have little experience with any guitar much less an electric. I got this amp because I did not want to spend much money on something that I might not enjoy. It sounds good enough and I do not regret the purchase. However, after only two days I regret that I did not get one with a larger speaker and more controls.Don’t get me wrong: This fits my need as a beginner, but after only two days I see that–in the long run and if I stick with it –I will need a better amp. Meanwhile, I am enjoying using this one.I would recommend this for a beginner, or anyone who does not intend to get serious about his guitar, or to whom cost is an issue.

    Acoustic Delight

First amp and 20 watts is perfect. I haven’t turned the volume knob past 5 and it articulates a rich, full sound with bass, mid and highs. Plug and play simplicity – I highly recommend (and it’s portable)!

    Good starter amp

I researched different amps before buying and decided this was the best option. Has different settings you can play around with to create your own unique sound. Has a cubby hole in the back that is usefuk for storing extra cords and accessories. Sound quality is good. Good price for what you are getting. The thing I was not sure about before buying was if it was going to work with plugging in my iRig. It was no problem, I just needed an extra instrument cable. With this set up, I can also use this as a speaker for playing music from my phone.

Can’t beat the price for a practice amp.

Didn’t expect a whole lot for such a small amp but was shocked with the quality. I live in a townhouse so I can’t just blare the volume but it has enough features to mess around with the sound effects.

Fender Champion vs. Fender Acoustasonic15 vs. Behringer Ultraacoustic AT108 side-by-side for Nylon Classical

I am very picky- The Fender Champion blew away the other 2 for tone and versatility.I wanted to spend $100 to get some classical guitar (Alhambra with FIshman pickup system) sound reinforcement. I also like a little reverb.1. Fender Acoustasonic 15 had very good tone and volume. Very dry though. It has chorus, but I didnt like it. Plus the pot clicked off around the 7oclock position. Why would they put in chorus instead of reverb? I think reverb is more versatile, though both are best, which the Champion provides. Also the Acoustasonic 15 has a closed back with front bass ports. Very good, tight balanced tone for the size. On the other hand is has 6″ speaker, vs. Champion which has 8″. The 2″ makes a difference.2. Behinger had bad tone for acoustic guitar. Yes it sounds like a tube amp, but it sounds like an electric guitar playing into a tube amp. I wanted a more natural acoustic backdrop. 8″ speaker with open back, so the sound was muddier than the acoustasonic. No effects, and this amp was heavier than it needed to be. I played it for half an hour and was not too impressed.3. Then the Champion came out—THE CHAMPION! Blown away at what is in here for the price. In one word- VERSATILITY! I can get it to sound like a true acoustic… I have a larger Crate Acoustic Gunnison, but too inconvenient to lug around everywhere. I can make the Champion sound just like the crate, but it is 1/2 the size and weight. 8″ speaker, and I was skeptical it could compete with a closed back for tightness, but it does! and when I crank the Low, I can make it sound like a strat playing through a large Fender Twin Reverb! I could not believe the bottom end I was getting out of this tiny amp! This tiny amp is like 10 different amps in one package… and $99! Where was this thing when I was in high school? This thing totally kills my Peavey Studio Pro 40 with 12″ speaker from the 80’s. The effects are awesome. I can get my plain & simple reverb plus a ton of other fun goodies, and using the FX does not seem to affect my volume settings as much as other amps.Oh yeah, one more thing that I personally love- It only has Treble and Bass. Plain and simple. I HATE dealing with a Mid knob, and I always set it down to zero to get the sound I like. This amp saves me the extra step. One Downside: I don’t know why they make such a great amp with only one input!I fixed it for cheap with Beringer Micromix MX400-http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-MX400-BEHRINGER-MICROMIX/dp/B000KGYAYQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448153986&sr=8-1&keywords=behringer+mixer+microHighly recommend! WOW! I can’t stop playing with it. If you buy this, you won’t regret it!!!

Good enough for a beginner, but hard to grow with the amp

I ordered the Fender Champion 20. Being a beginner, I wasn’t ready to splurge on a $600 combo tube amp, so I was looking for something simple to amplify my new Epiphone SG. In its price range, the Fender Champion 20 was one of the highest recommended products on Amazon, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Originally, I was deciding between this and the Mustang I (V.2) for $20 more or the Frontman for $40 less, but I wanted some effects (ruling out the frontman) and a simple interface (ruling out the mustang). I also looked at offerings from Roland, Orange, Marshall et al – models including effects were all more expensive and didn’t appear to sound much more refined (based on reviews). If you want a really good sounding amp, depending on your style of choice, you need to spend $500 and up, so, in my opinion, there’s no real point trying to get the best ~$100-200 amp for future playability. This amp is exactly what I need as a beginner:- Headphones and aux connections. Aux is useful if you’ve got a few drum tracks that you’d like to play alongside your guitar (some books offer downloadable tracks).- Can digitally simulate (“model”) the sound of multiple different amps including classic Fender amps:01 Tweed Bassman02 Tweed Deluxe03 Tweed Champ04 ’65 Twin-Amp05 ’65 Deluxe06 ‘65 Princeton07 60s British08 70s British09 80s British10 Super-Sonic11 90s Metal12 2000 Metal- Features onboard effects. They’re not great, but what do you expect in an amp that costs less than a single decent effects pedal? As a beginner, it’s convenient because it gives me a sampling of the cool things you can do with electric guitar effects. Most of the time I leave these off anyway, they’re mostly a gimmick. The effects selections are:01 No effects02 Reverb + Chorus03 Reverb Hall04 Reverb Spring05 Chorus Fast Sweep06 Chorus Deep Sweep07 Flange08 Delay Slapback09 Delay Long10 Delay + Reverb11 Touch Wah12 Vibrato13 TremoloPros:- very affordable for a practice 20W amp- very simple controls- sounds fineCons:- only 1 channel; can’t quickly switch from clean to tweed + spring reverb effect with a single click. I believe the larger Champion amps have a channel switch.- the voice and effects knobs are continuous, like analog knobs, but operate digitally. This means that they only switch between a preset number of selections. For example, to select my favorite voice – #6 “’65 Princeton” – I have to turn the voice knob to “Blackface” until the tri-color LED turns yellow. This is the least intuitive way to select a sound. A 12-click knob would have been better. It’s possible this was simply done to save money, but it’s very confusing.- Major annoyance: when powering off, the amp let’s out a HUGE pop. Every time. It’s not too disruptive, but if your objective is to be quiet at night in your bedroom, and you decide it’s time to turn it off, you hear a loud pop! This could be a deal-breaker for those who are using this as a practice amp in their bedrooms at night. Other reviewers have mentioned this as well. Conclusion: I gave this 4 stars because it’s not the greatest amp in the world, however, if you’re new to electric guitar and want to just get a sampling of voices and effects for a very low price, this is the way to go. Once you become an intermediate player, you can upgrade to a tube amp. A quick search on youtube will help you compare tubes to cheap solid state amps. Again, beware of the pop noise when turning off. Otherwise, highly recommend!——————————————Update after a year:Downgraded my rating to 3 stars. I liked the amp, but it was just so fiddly to get the sound or effects that I wanted. The amp voices just seemed to be the same as increasing the gain, and the metal sounds were mostly unbearable. Jumping from clean to crunch back to clean takes some effort. Instead I recommend a look at the Boss Katana series of amps. For a bit more money, they’re much easier to use for a beginner, plus they sound better.

Excellent amp for practice and small gigs

A mídia não pôde ser carregada.

This amp is very versatile. I can dial it in for just about any sound from clean and crisp to a solid heavy grunge. The settings have a bit of a learning curve but if you experiment with it you will find a sound that works for you and your style. The amp works great with backing tracks. I us an app on my cell phone and plug it into the aux jack next to the headphone jack via a 3.5 to 3.5 mm mono cable. Be cautious how high you set the amp volume as it can get really loud. Fender has always meant quality and this amp is no exception. From Tom Petty to Pink Floyd to ACDC the sound is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super versatile. All round phenomenal amp.

I use the gt40 as a practice amp in my tiny apartment, and I absolutely love it. Excellent diversity in the amps and effects means you can get a pretty good approximation to just about any tone you hear. To my ear the amp models sound great, but I suppose your mileage may vary. Do they sound exactly like the “real” thing in an a/b test? Maybe. I personally don’t care as long as I can nail the vibe, and the unbeatably clean and intuitive front panel interface makes that easy. Having bluetooth connectivity is great for jamming along with songs too. Finally, being able to ditch my pedalboard for casual jams is a huge bonus, because I still have all the options (and more!) tucked in this little box of wonder. Some reviews point out the software isn’t/wasn’t great, and I have to sympathize. When I first purchased the amp there was definitely some polishing left to do on both the app and amp firmware. Both have since received several updates and I no longer have any major complaints. (a caveat: I pretty much only use the amp front panel for adjustment, not the app)This is my first modeling amp, and I was looking for low volume and high versatility. I did a bit of comparison shopping and tried out the Mustang GT40, the Yamaha THR10, the Marshall Code 50, and the Boss Katana 50. The Mustang sounds kinda bad and “boxy” in most youtube reviews I saw, but in person I never had a problem. Just make sure you aren’t pointing it at your feet. I ended up going with the Mustang over the others because of its interface (over the code) and flexibility (over the yamaha and boss). Frankly, I doubt you could go wrong, as they all seemed like great amps. After using the Mustang almost every day for about 5 months now I still feel I made the right choice, and I can confirm that the Mustang has not disappointed me. I’m still in love.

    Fender Champion 20 or 40

I purchased the Fender Champion 20 for my son who is learning guitar. It is a great little amp for the money. We ended up purchasing another Amp as I got interested in learning Guitar too. I didn’t want to have two of the same amps so I purchased the Marshall MG30FX which is a larger amp. You really can’t compare these amps the Fender Champion 20 has a 8” speaker and the Marshall MG30FX has a 10” and a difference of 10 watts. However, I do wish I would have purchased the Fender Champion 40. You can Purchase a Foot pedal for the Marshall MG30FX and the Fender Champion 40. I have since purchased the pedal for the Marshall and it makes it easier to switch between effects. The Fender Champion 20 does not have a foot pedal option and The larger speaker would have a better tone and would accomplish more growth as my son becomes a better player. The Fender Champion 20 is a great purchase but the jump in price to the Fender Champion 40 you gain the foot pedal option and 10” speaker for better tone. Making the Fender Champion 40 the better long term purchase.Update: February 20, 2021My youngest son has been using the Champion 20 and then he wanted to get a bigger amp. We purchased the Champion 40 for him. As above I wished we had purchased the Champion 40 from the beginning. Due to the larger speaker the tone is much better then the Champion 20 it can put out some impressive volume. The foot switch can change between the 2 Chanel’s of clean and distortion. Each can be adjusted independently except for the on board effects. For example if you want reverb it will be present in both clean and distortion. The foot switch for the amp has effects and changes between the two Channels. A nice feature is you can adjust the volumes for the channels independent. The Champion 40 is worth the extra money and will last longer between the new guitar player and that next big jump in amp purchases

    Fantastic!

I’m absolutely happy with it, I am a beginner, but I have also bought some pedals effects, but everything I could need is already there. It’s full of different effects that you can get out of this little thing. Plus I must run it at his minimum volume, because of my neighbors complaining. I really like it. Go for it, plus it’s much better than the other Fender amp, the little one at 100$, because this one has a lot of different sounds combinations that the other one doesn’t have.

    Small box, big sound

I was impressed with the choices of settings with both the amps and effects. It had plenty of output. I connected it to a EV 12″ speaker and WOW! The output and tone was not to be believed, it turned into a monster. I love it.

Great little small room practice amp

Packed with features virtually every guitar effect on this little amp so you can as heavy as you want to folk to jazz to pop and rock !! I would say this range is brilliant- and if you want to play live in a hall you can get the same amp with features up to and over 100amp

Sounds okay for the price. Obnoxious popping noise when you turn it off.

I’ve been playing guitar for years, mostly on the acoustic and classical side, but I’ve spent time on electric in college and played at least a few concerts. I was looking to get back into electric, so I was trying to find an amp that didn’t break the bank, but also sounded okay. This amp does in fact sound okay. It’s a lot better at clean than distorted. I wasn’t a fan of the way the distortion settings sounded tbh, but that’s a personal preference thing. Knobs felt kinda cheap, but that’s okay at the price point. The real deal breaker for me is the massive pop/thump that happens every time you turn it off. You press the switch to turn it off, and then a second later it makes that POP noise. That pop is louder than quiet playing. In a small room it’s annoying as heck. If you’re in an apartment your neighbors would hear it. The only way to mitigate that pop is to plug something into the headphone jack before turning it off.I went to a music store and tried another of this same amp and all of the Champion 20’s did this same thing. Fender’s more expensive guitar amps don’t have this issue. Pretty much every other amp in that store didn’t have this issue. I assume this issue is just because of a budget cut, but oh boy is it annoying if you just want something to play at home, which is what this amp is marketed for. If I didn’t start looking things up I would have thought something was broken with it. I’ll say it again. Almost no other amp I’ve tried at the store or used back in college did this crap.Shame on you Fender. For this price in 2022 this popping noise shouldn’t be an issue. It’s honestly unacceptable.

Amazing combo amp especially for price

You can do so much with this amp, it sounds awesome. There are quite a few effects on the amp so you don’t need pedals.

Nice little low cost practice amp

I bought this little amp several years ago when I first started learning electric guitar and it still serves me well as a practice amp. The sound is not bad for a small speaker amp (8″ speaker). It does include several effects and amp simulations, which are ok. The effects are fine for when you first start playing around, but you will quickly decide that an external effects processor is the better way to go. I set the amp itself to give me the cleanest/purist sound possible and then use my GT-3 effects board for doing all my affects, this is also much better in that you can easily switch effects, which this amp does not give you the ability to switch quickly on the fly.So, if you are just starting out with electric guitar, this is a great little starting practice amp. As you get more serious tho, you will need at the very least an external effects board, and in time you will want a better amp, it is perfectly fine for practice sessions, but for more serious work you will want something better.

    Its a Fender!

It’s a Fender product, you get quality, but you pay a bit more for the name, having said that you get a lot of options for a small practice amp. If you’re after a heavy chugging sound, then use a bigger amp with effects pedals! And as far as the two-pin plug goes, put another lead from another amp on it, one with three pins, a standard English type of plug, most guitarists have a bigger amp and just need a practice amp for home or portability. As far as the amp goes, it’s a beautiful little amp with lots of knobs and a button, to play with, and you can plug an external sound source into it to play along with, a mobile phone with a lead, and you can plug in headphones and hear the quality of the sound options. Thumbs up for this little beauty, in my opinion, and just remember, it will only sound as good as the instrument you put through it and the player who plays it…Have a nice day…

For a $100, it’s fine. Basic, no blue tooth capabilities but a convenient little amp. I also think the sound is way above average. More than satisfied with this purchase.

    Perfecto!

Suena bastante bien para practicar solo o con tu grupo, en cuanto al precio, podrías comprar uno usado de mayor watts pero si apenas estás comenzando no creo que ocupes algo más grande.
